Activity

Relationship between the microstructure and the thermo-mechanical properties of materials and systems. Reliability and lifetime prediction of structures. Numerical simulation.

Teaching activities (2nd and 3rd year at the ingenior school ENSICAEN) : Mechanical properties of materials ( rupture mechanics ; fatigue behaviour ; small dimensions systems properties - micro-mechanics ; tribology ; effects of the environment) ; numerical simulation (structural computations by FEM) ; DAC.

Research interests :
 
Thermo-mechanical characterisation of metals, ceramics and polymers, bulk or thin films. Determination of the visco-elasto-plastic behaviour of materials. Following of the damage and determination of the rupture mechanisms. Interfaces mechanics (adhesion). 
 
Ageing and reliability characterisations.
 
Microstructural characterisation of materials : internal structure, crystalline morphology, porosity investigation (SEM, FIB, AFM, NMR, image analysis, DRX). Physico-chemical characterisation (IR and RAMAN spectroscopies, DSC).
 
Numerical modelling and FE simulation.
